Executive Team

Samuel J. SalkinSamuel J. Salkin
Sam is Sinai’s executive director, a position he has held since 2010. Sam has extensive managerial and leadership experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Cornell University and is a licensed funeral director.

Daniel VillaDaniel Villa
    Daniel is the General Manager of Sinai. He has been in the nonprofit sector of the industry for over 30 years. He has an MBA from Pepperdine University, Bachelors of Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and is trained and certified from the International Cemetery Crematory Funeral Association University. He has experience in all levels of Cemetery Management and Leadership. He has been active in State and International Associations holding Board of Director positions.

Jim EisenweinDavid Habib
David Habib is a managing funeral director in Redwood City. He began working at Sinai in 2005. Prior to returning to the Redwood City Sinai mortuary, David worked at Sinai in San Francisco as a funeral director. David is fluent in both Hebrew and French, he is active with several communities and institutions in the Peninsula and the South Bay Area. He holds an MBA from Notre Dame De Namur University.

Sharon BrusmanSharon Brusman
    Sharon is a managing funeral director at Sinai in Lafayette. She joined Sinai in 2014. She is co-chair of the Chevra Kadisha at Congregation Kol Shofar. Sharon graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with an M.P.H.

Robert PerezRobert T. Perez
Robert is operations manager at Sinai and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He has worked at Sinai since 2011. He is a graduate of San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.

Funeral Arrangement and Counseling Staff

Josh AlpertJosh Alpert
Josh is a licensed funeral director at Sinai, where he has worked since 2011. He represents the fourth generation of his family to work in his chosen profession. Josh is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service.

Juan Santos
    Juan is a licensed funeral director who joins Sinai having served the funeral industry since 2007. He has a BA in Religious Studies from Chamonade University of Honolulu and a MA in Theological Studies and Multicultural Church.

Matthew Taylor

Matthew Taylor
    Matt is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He represents the fifth generation of his family to work in this career. Matt joins Sinai with over twenty years of experience helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones and finding closure through high-quality and individualized funeral services. Matt is a graduate of the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.

Todd A. Forbes
    Todd is a licensed embalmer and funeral director, having joined Sinai's Lafayette office in 2016. Todd is a graduate of Cypress College of Mortuary Science. He is a former Board Member of the California Funeral Directors’ Association and has been an active member of a number of community service organizations.

Raymond Soudah

Raymond Soudah
    Raymond joined the Sinai staff as a licensed funeral director in 2018. He has worked since 2002 in a variety of related positions in the field. Raymond attended Skyline Community College, San Bruno, CA.

Roger MeyerRoger Meyer
    Roger is a licensed funeral director, having worked at several funeral homes and cemeteries in the East Bay since 2004. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Management from St. Mary's College and works at Sinai's Lafayette facility.

Kiet VanKiet Van
    Kiet Van has been with Sinai since 2008. He is a licensed funeral director, FD 4037 in Sinai’s Redwood City office. Kiet is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Business Management Economics.

Cemetery Staff

Lisa Matson
Lisa Matson    Lisa is the office manager at Eternal Home Cemetery, a position she has held for ten years. She is the fourth generation of her family to serve in various capacities at the cemetery, going back to her great grandfather, who started working there in 1936. Her work includes helping people interested in genealogy explore handwritten records of burials at Eternal Home going back to 1901.

Cathie Cline Sheldon
Cathie Cline-Sheldon    Cathie is the cemetery counselor at Gan Shalom Cemetery, where she has worked for six years. She assists families in understanding their options and works with them in purchasing plots, planning burials, and designing memorial markers.

Counseling Staff

Batya RossBatya Ross
Batya joined Sinai’s Mourner Care Program as a bereavement counselor in 2018. She maintains a private practice in San Francisco, working with individual adults, couples and teens who are working through challenges related to grief and loss, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, divorce, aging, and life transitions. She received a Certificate in Jewish Philosophy, Laws and Traditions from Midreshet Moriah, Jerusalem, Israel, a B.A. in Illustration from Yeshiva University, New York and an M.A. from California Institute of Integral Studies in Counseling Psychology, San Francisco, CA.

Cheryl BartkyCheryl Bartky
Cheryl is the co-coordinator of Sinai Memorial Chapel’s Mourner Care Program, having joined Sinai in 2006. She is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor as well as a creative arts therapist. She is the artistic director of the Moving On Dance™ Project, sponsored by Sinai, and is active in several professional associations in her field of work. She received a B.A from Queens College of the City University of New York and a master’s degree from Hahnemann Medical College.

Gloria Saltzman
Gloria Saltzman    Gloria joined Sinai's Mourner Care Program as a bereavement counselor in 2016. She maintains a private practice in San Francisco, and, through the AIDS Health Project and the Women's Cancer Resource Center, provides hospice care and support to those living with chronic illness. She received a B.A. from SUNY Binghamton in English Literature and Women’s Studies, an M.A. in psychology from New College of California, and an M.F.A. in creative writing from USF.
