Giving to Sinai Memorial Chapel Chevra Kadisha

Sinai Memorial Chapel was established as a nonprofit organization. This enables us to serve the Bay Area Jewish community in ways that are unique among funeral homes.

There are several ways you can support our work. These acts of tzedakah—charitable giving—enable us to fulfill our mission to serve as a chevra kadisha and as a participant in many aspects of Jewish life in the Bay Area.

Please select one of the following categories for your tax-deductible donation. Thank you.

By becoming a member of Sinai, you enable us to provide funeral and burial services for Jews without financial means and those who have lost an infant or child at no cost. Membership contributions also support Sinai’s funding of and partnerships with other Jewish organizations that provide a range of services to the community, including those that help families who are grieving.

Annual Membership $36
Supporting Annual Membership $180
Life Membership $1800

Special Projects/Programs:

The Memory Garden: This is a sacred space being developed at Eternal Home Cemetery where those who have experienced pregnancy loss and infertility can reflect and heal. This effort will include outreach to the religious and medical community to educate them about these kinds of losses. Learn more here.

Mourner Care Program: This no-cost service is available to all mourners in the community. Through one-on-one consultations, we support mourners by providing short-term counseling, grief education, and bereavement care. Learn more here.

Diane Lynn Cashel Memorial Fund for Rabbinical Services: This fund provides honoraria to rabbis who lead funerals for members of our community whose families are unable to pay for them.

Sinai K’vod Hamet Endowment Fund: This fund ensures Sinai’s ability to provide funerals and burials to local Jewish families that are unable to afford them, honoring a commitment made when Sinai was established over 100 years ago. Learn more here.

Legacy Gifts: If you are interested in making a legacy gift, such as through a will or trust, please contact Executive Director Samuel J. Salkin at or (415) 921-3636. This type of gift can support the work of Sinai while expressing your values to future generations.
