Memorial Marker Rules, Regulations and
Specifications
ONE: All Markers must be made of bronze, installed on a Sunset Red Granite Base, and comply with the following:
All Markers must be installed flush with the ground level. No upright monuments or bevel markers are allowed.
Only one (1) Marker can be installed on a single grave space and only one (1) double Marker can be installed on two (2) adjoining side by side grave spaces.
The only religious symbols which may be depicted on a Marker are those of the Jewish faith. Nonreligious designs, emblems or symbols may be allowed at the discretion of the Cemetery. Permanently attached photographs are allowed on a Marker provided the photograph is a “steel” cameo that does not exceed four (4) inches in height by three & one quarter (3 ¼) inches in width and can only be that of the person or persons over whose grave space(s) the Marker is placed. A covered frame for the “steel” cameo is not allowed.
The Cemetery retains the right to be the sole arbitrator of what is an appropriate design, emblem or symbol.
The Cemetery accepts no responsibility for any damage which may occur to any photograph.
Before a Marker or the completion of an Inscription (name plate, date, etc.) on a Marker can be approved for placement, all charges and fees for the Cemetery space(s) must be paid in full. Only authorized Cemetery staff will be allowed to install any Marker, Base or Inscription in the Cemetery.
TWO: Specifications for Bronze Markers:
All bronze Markers must be of a light or dark brown color. No other color bronze will be allowed.
Single Marker
Sizes allowed: 16 inches long by 24 inches wide 24 inches long by 12 inches wide 24 inches long by 14 inches wide 24 inches long by 30 inches wide
Double Marker
Sizes allowed: 44 inches long by 14 inches wide 2 – 24 inches long by 12 inches wide 2 – 24 inches long by 14 inches wide
Partial Grave Space Markers
Sized allowed: 16 inches long by 8 inches wide 20 inches long by 10 inches wide
Only bronze invertible flower vases are allowed in the Marker or Marker Base. The Cemetery accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of any Bronze vase. The Cemetery may choose to replace a missing or damaged Bronze vase at its discretion.
THREE: Specifications for Granite Bases:
All Bases must be Sunset Red Granite, 4 inches thick with a polished top, sawed or smooth sides, and a level bottom.
Single Marker Bases
Sizes allowed: 20 inches long by 28 inches wide 28 inches long by 16 inches wide 28 inches long by 18 inches wide 28 inches long by 26 inches wide* 28 inches long by 28 inches wide* 28 inches long by 34 inches wide
Double Marker Bases
Sizes allowed: 48 inches long by 18 inches wide 48 inches long by 26 inches wide* 54 inches long by 16 inches wide 54 inches long by 18 inches wide 60 inches long by 16 inches wide* 60 inches long by 18 inches wide*
Partial Grave Space Marker Bases
Sizes allowed: 18 inches long by 10 inches wide 24 inches long by 12 inches wide
The Marker Bases identified with an asterisk (*) have vase holes drilled in the exposed granite polished top separate from the Marker. The Cemetery office has a description of these Bases and with which size Marker(s) these Bases can be used.
FOUR: All Markers, Bases and Inscriptins not
purchased from
A. A complete description of the Marker, Base, and Inscription including all lettering, designs and sizes, must be submitted for approval on a cemetery Marker/Inscription Request Form.
B. Payment for the installation fee and Base, if applicable, must accompany all request forms.
FIVE: The Cemetery is not responsible for the
quality, appearance, misspelling or flaws for any Marker, Base or Inscription,
purchased from any source other than
Any Marker, Base or Inscription purchased from any source
other than
Any Marker, Base or Inscription received damaged in any way will not be accepted.
Any Marker, Base or Inscription that does not comply with the Cemetery’s Rules, Regulations and Specifications will not be allowed.
SIX: Any Marker, Base or Inscription not installed by authorized Cemetery staff, must be removed from the Cemetery within ten (10) working days from the date of notification to the purchaser of the right of interment or the purchaser’s heirs, or the company which provided the Marker, Base or Inscription. Thereafter, the Cemetery retains the right to have the Marker, Base or Inscription removed from the Cemetery at the expense of the purchase of the right of interment or the purchaser’s heirs, without any liability whatsoever to the Cemetery and/or its agents including any damage which may occur to the Marker, Base or Inscription.
The foregoing Gan Shalom Memorial Rules, Regulations and specifications are binding on all purchasing parties, heirs or representatives.
The Cemetery without notice, retains the right to change or modify the Memorial Rules, Regulations and Specifications, at its discretion, and such changes and modifications shall immediately become effective and binding on all current and future Memorial Markers.
A copy of these Memorial Rules, Regulations and Specifications is available at the Cemetery office.
As the purchaser of the right of interment, I understand and
agree to the above Memorial Rules, Regulations and Specifications for
